Update the status of a supply request
Overview
This flow describes how to move a supply request forward in Care. You change the status of the request when you edit it.
Note: Care has no separate approve button or complete button. You change the Status field to move the request forward.
Pre-requisites
- Someone raised the supply request at your facility, and you open that request.
- You are a member of the facility that holds the supply request.
- You have the permissions listed below.
Permissions
| Permission | Access |

| Can Create Supply Request on Facility | Lets you create a supply request, edit it, and change its status. Facility Admin, Admin, Staff, Doctor, and Nurse have this permission. |
Steps
1. Open the supply request
Open the supply request that you want to update.
2. Start the edit
Click Edit.
3. Change the status
Select the new value in the Status field.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft | You prepare the request. The request is not yet submitted. |
| Pending | The request waits for action. |
| Completed | The facility dispatched all of the requested items. |
| Abandoned | The facility stopped the request. |
| Entered in Error | Someone created the request by mistake. |
Note: Select Pending when you move a request out of Draft. Select Completed after the facility dispatches the full request.
4. Save the change
Save the supply request.
Expected Outcome
- Care records the new status on the supply request.
- The supply request shows the new status when you view it.
