Edit or retire a catalog entry

Overview

This flow describes how to change the details of a product catalog entry, and how to retire an entry that your facility no longer uses.

Pre-requisites

  • Someone added the catalog entry to the product catalog of your facility.
  • You have the permissions listed below.

Permissions

PermissionAccess
Can Create Product Knowledge on FacilityLets you create and edit product catalog entries at the facility.

Facility Admin and Admin have this permission.

Steps

1. Open the product catalog

  1. Go to the facility.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Product Knowledge.

2. Open the catalog entry

  1. Find the entry that you want to change.
  2. Click the entry to open it.

3. Edit the details

  1. Click Edit.
  2. Change the fields that you want to update.
ComponentsWhat it captures
NameThe name of the product.
SlugThe short reference for the product.
Product TypeThe type of the product.
CategoryThe category of the product.
CodeThe code of the product.
Base UnitThe unit that Care uses to count the product.
StatusThe current state of the catalog entry.
Alternate IdentifierAn additional identifier for the product.
Alternate namesOther names for the same product.
Storage guidelinesThe storage instructions for the product.

Note: Which fields are mandatory depends on your deployment's configuration.

4. Save the changes

  1. Save the entry.

5. Retire the entry

Care does not remove a catalog entry. If you no longer use a product, retire the entry.

  1. Open the catalog entry.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Care sets the Status of the entry to Retired.

Expected Outcome

  • The catalog entry shows the updated details.
  • A retired entry has the status Retired, and stays in the catalog.
