Edit a location

Overview​

This flow describes how to change the details of a location in a facility.

Pre-requisites​

  • The location is set up in the facility.
  • You have the permissions listed below.

Permissions​

Steps​

1. Open the location you want to change​

Go to the location list, card, or table view. See View locations.

You can also open the detail page of the location.

2. Select the edit action​

Select the edit action on the location. Care opens the same form that you use to create a location. The form shows the current details of the location.

Note: You cannot change the Location Form here. The Location Form stays fixed after you create the location.

3. Update the details​

Change the details that you want to update.

DescriptionMore information about the location.
StatusThe status of the location.
Operational StatusThe operational status of the location.

4. Save your changes​

Save the form.

Note: You cannot move a location under a different parent location after you create it. You can only change the position of the location among its current sibling locations. See Reorder locations.

Expected Outcome​

  • Care saves the new details of the location.
  • The location list shows the updated details.
